Earlier today, it was reported that a California state Senator made some absolutely revolting remarks about President Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron in an incident someone at a fundraiser was kind enough to record:
“Barron trots around on stage like an autistic on a sugar low,” California Senator Burt Nordstrom was heard saying in the recording, which was made at a private fundraiser for his campaign in February. “Someone needs to tell that spoiled little douche baby his daddy is trash before I do it myself.”
Since then, Nordstrom’s Republican colleagues have been calling on him to resign to no avail. But when President Trump heard about this incident, he leaped into action, picked up the phone, and started making calls.
Buried in the state of California’s Constitution is the following passage:
If the President feels a state lawmaker has acted in a way that is unbefitting of a leader, he may request a formal hearing. There, both sides may present evidence and the lawmaker may be removed from office.
This has only happened once before, when President Harry Truman had a California Representative removed for shooting his neighbor’s dog. Fox News reports:
On Thursday, a 13-person legislative panel held an emergency meeting and President Trump only needed one piece of evidence: the recording.
The vote was 10-2 in favor of removal, which means that Nordstrom’s seat was immediately declared vacant.
“I’m sorry for the way I spoke about President Trump’s little boy,” Nordstrom said after the hearing. “I don’t know what I can do to make it up to the people I have let down.”
A special election will be held in two months to fill the seat left vacant by the 17-term Democrat, and it’s likely that a Republican will take his place according to experts, who say the state is “shifting red.”
This is what happens when you mess with the President’s children. Take note, liberals!
